Biography of Paul S. Richards, grandson of Mormon pioneer and early leader in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Paul Snelgrove Richards was born in the Sugar House section of Salt Lake City Utah on November 25, 1892. He attended LDS College at the Normal School at the University of Utah. He went directly to medical school at Harvard University without obtaining an undergraduate college degree. Richards was a successful doctor at the Bingham Canyon Hospital in Bingham, Utah. He was a pioneer of occupational health and safety, founder of the Memorial Medical Clinic in Salt Lake City and has the Dr. Paul S. Richards Endowed Chair in Occupational Safety and Health at the University of Utah named after him. He passed away at the clinic in Salt Lake City on November 28, 1958.
